Welcome to the New Hope International Hospital support raising website! My name is Delmar Olsen. I am associated with International Evangelism Outreach (IEO), which has its headquarters in Sakila, Tanzania, East Africa under the name IEC (Intl. Evangelism Centre). The American offices of IEO are located in Poulsbo, Washington.
One of the projects of IEO is the construction of New Hope International Hospital (NHIH) on which construction has already started.
In June and July of 2006, my wife and I were members of a ten person medical team that operated the clinic in Sakila and other outlying villages. During this time, I witnessed many serious medical problems that clearly demonstrated to us the urgent need for NHIH to be built.
One such case was six month old baby Irene who had a very large hernia on her abdomen. This hernia was caused by a minor birth defect (see above photo). Her parents could not afford to have the necessary medical procedure completed, thus creating this unnecessary hernia. If NHIH was in operation this would not have been an issue because the criterion for medicial care is that: quality medical care will be provided regardless of the ability of the patient to pay.As a result of my experiences in Sakila, Tanzania, a plan to raise funds to build NHIH came into being. I am in the process of contacting 1,000,000 people and asking them to forgo one cup of latte, or one soda, or one donut, or one bag of chips, or whatever for one day and donate one of the dollars they saved to NHIH.
